Solvent

Privacy Policy

Last updated September 16, 2026

Solvent is built so that your budget stays with you. This policy explains the little we do collect and why.

What stays on your device

Your income, envelopes, transactions, goals and pay-cycle history are stored locally in your browser or in the app on your phone. On the free plan this data never leaves your device. We cannot see it, and neither can anyone else.

What we collect if you sign in

Signing in is optional and only needed for Solvent Pro. When you sign in we store your email address so we can send you a one-time login code and identify your subscription. We do not store passwords.

Sync (Pro)

If you turn on sync, your budget data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on our servers so your other devices can download it. Sync is off until you enable it. You can delete your synced data at any time from Settings, and signing out stops sync immediately.

Payments

On iOS and Android, purchases are processed by Apple or Google through their in-app purchase systems. On the web, payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We receive a subscription status and renewal date so we can unlock Pro.

Analytics

We do not use advertising SDKs and we do not sell data. The app sends an anonymous usage ping (a random device id, platform, app version, whether setup is complete, your plan and how many envelopes you have) so we can count installs and see what works. It never includes amounts, names or notes.

Your rights

You can export everything as CSV, erase all data on your device, and request deletion of any server-side data by emailing [email protected]. We answer within 30 days.

Children

Solvent is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
